Description
These bags were created in a way that links the culture and traditions of Guatemala with the modern world. So that the traditions may continue through the artisans who showcase them in each and every product. Almost every item is made entirely by hand, making each piece unique and intrinsically valuable. Each paiece is a reflection of the varied artistic skills of the Guatemalan people and powerful history of traditional techniques, patterns and culture, creating an expression of fierce beauty and artistry.
Made using cotton fabric, the fabrics are woven together using a pedal loom, some using the Jasper or Ikat technique, which consists of knotting the threads then dyeing them. The detail is in the artisan’s experience in making the knots and how far apart to place them to form the desired pattern.
Once the fabric has been woven, it is sent to a seamstress who designs and creates the bags you see today.

Care & Maintenance
Spot clean fabric with cool, soapy water using a mild detergent or baby shampoo. Do not machine wash. Carefully apply a cleaner especially made for leather, to avoid damaging the fabric.
